When is it not a haunting?
This is simply a list of some physical and non-physical things that can sometimes make you feel that you may have paranormal activity. It truly is not to be taken as a way of down playing what your are experiencing. It is just a way to provide some possible alternatives to the activity that you may be sensing.
Electrical Hypersensitivity
Being EHS means experiencing recurring
feelings of stress or illness when near an EMF source. Any noticeable,
recurring ill health that is triggered by an electromagnetic field, and
that diminishes or disappears away from the EMF (electromagnetic fields) source, constitutes a
case of electrical hypersensitivity. While symptoms may diminish quickly
after the exposure is reduced, it can take several days, weeks or
occasionally months if the person has become severely sensitized, for
the effects to disappear.
Some of these symptoms include, but are not limited to
1. Numbness, weakness or prickling sensations in your joints or limbs
2. Feelings of abnormal tiredness or weakness that cannot be explained by your life commitments
3. Changes in your ability to think clearly or finding it difficult to concentrate, depending on where you are
4. Aches and pains, cramps or muscle spasms in your joints, bones and
muscles in your shoulders, arms, legs, feet, wrists, ankles, elbows and
pelvis. Fibromyalgia
5. Headaches,feebleness, dizziness, tremors
6. Paranoia, feelings of being watched
7. Restlessness, anxiety
8. Memory loss
9. Sleep disturbance, insomnia
10. Hallucinations (seeing or hearing odd things that others do not)
11. A tendency to skin redness, itchiness, rashes, tingling or dry skin
12. Abdominal pain, digestive problems, irregular bowel movements, sickness
13. Feeling too hot, fever
14. A smarting, irritating sensation, a pain, or a feeling as if there
is grit in your eyes. Blurred vision or flickering before the eyes
15. Nosebleeds or blood pressure changes
16. Heart arrhythmia or irregularities, palpitations or chest pain
17. Toothache or neuralgia
18. Hair loss
19. Hearing clicks, humming, buzzing, hissing or a high-pitched whine
20. Sensitivity to light, especially fluorescent lights or computer screens (sometimes, though rarer, even daylight)
21. Bouts of unusual irritability, rage, violence, destructiveness, feeling hostile
22. Thyroid problems
23. A generalized feeling of impending influenza that never quite breaks out
24. Depression
25. 'Missing time', blackouts or convulsions.
These abnormal EMF's can be created by improper home wire, improperly grounded appliances, unshielded breaker boxers, or any other variation of incorrect wiring. If the EMF radiates out far enough from its source it can create a area commonly known as a "fear cage". This "fear cage will only intensify such feelings as paranoia, depression, skin irritations, hallucinations, ect. If you having a large number of these symptoms, then it is extremely important that you have your homes wiring checked out by a certified electrician. Especially in areas that you spend a large amount of time such as around your bed, your seating areas in your living room, a computer work station, or any other area that you frequent.

Sleep Paralysis
Sleep
paralysis is a condition in which someone, most often lying in a supine
(face up) position, about to drop off to sleep, or just upon awaking
from sleep realizes that s/he is unable to move, or speak, or cry out.
This may last a few seconds or several moments, occasionally longer.
People frequently report feeling a 'presence' that is often described as
malevolent, threatening, or evil. An intense sense of dread and terror
is very common. The presence is likely to be vaguely felt or sensed
just out of sight but thought to be watching or monitoring, often with
intense interest, sometimes standing by, or sitting on the bed. On some
occasions, the presence may attack, strangling and exerting crushing
pressure on the chest.
In addition, the paralysis may be accompanied by terrifying hallucinations and an acute sense of danger. Sleep paralysis is particularly frightening to the individual because of the vividness of such hallucinations.
The hallucinatory element to sleep paralysis makes it even more likely
that someone will interpret the experience as a dream, since completely
fanciful or dream-like objects may appear in the room alongside one's
normal vision. Some scientists have proposed this condition as an
explanation for alien abductions and ghostly encounters. Although a pretty terrifying event, these events are
not physically harmful. There are two major types of sleep paralysis:
common (typical) also known as CSP and hallucinatory (hypnagogic) sleep
paralysis known as HSP.
Sleep paralysis can be hereditary and is can often be brought about by increased stress or major changes in your environment. Treatment is available and you should contact your family physician if you believe that you are experiencing this disorder for a long period of time. Your doctor will more than likely order a sleep study to diagnose whether the cause of the sleep paralysis may
be sleep apnea. With proper treatment of a diagnosed sleep apnea
condition, the sleep paralysis events may subside and/or disappear. Reducing stress, eating healthy and keeping regular sleep patterns can also help decrease the symptoms. In some severe cases, your doctor may order a medication therapy.
Excessive Stress or Stress Disorders
Stress can cause physical effects to your body and mind. Stress
may have a bearing on raised blood pressure, a rise in blood sugar
level, rapid heartbeat, and a lower digestive rate.
Physically, stress can lead to shoulder, back, and neck muscle tension; stomach and bowel upset; and if the stressful state persists - it can lead to the weakening of your immune system. Next come the frequent colds and other bad health effects.
Stress affects us psychologically by causing
lack of concentration, irritability, quick temper, moodiness,
unreasonable anger, less patience, less memory recall, difficulty making
decisions, and uncertainty towards the future (due to not being able to
cope with the present).
Psychosomatic diseases and Type A individuals are affected by chronic
stress that is mild to moderate over an extended period of time. Stress
disorders, however, do not require the summation of stress to occur.
These disorders include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and acute stress disorder (ASD).
PTSD involves seeing or being part of a situation that dealt with an
objectively traumatic event that may have included severe injury, death,
sexual assault, etc. Stress from PTSD usually leads to repeated
flashbacks of the event, emotional and interpersonal avoidance, as well
as psychological arousal such as an inflated reaction to frightening
events and hyper-vigilance.
Acute stress disorder is similar to PTSD, but it differs in that the
former is a near-immediate reaction that is short-lived. Furthermore,
the onset of PTSD can be months after the traumatic event and persist
for months to years. ASD also has the characteristics of severe
withdrawal from surroundings and amnesia is common. While fairly few
people will ever be affected by stress disorders in their lifetime, PTSD
and ASD show the major detrimental effects stress can have on mental
and physical health.
If gone untreated for a long period of time, these stress disorders can lead to depression, crying, apathy, overall sense of doom, fear of
failure, loss of confidence, and in extreme cases even psychosis.
Psychosis is given to the more severe forms of psychiatric disorder,
during which hallucinations and delusions and impaired insight may
occur. Some professionals say that the term psychosis is not sufficient as
some illnesses grouped under the term "psychosis" have nothing in common.
People experiencing psychosis may report hallucinations or delusional beliefs, and may exhibit personality changes and thought disorder.
Depending on its severity, this may be accompanied by unusual or
bizarre behavior, as well as difficulty with social interaction and
impairment in carrying out the daily life activities.
A wide variety of central nervous system diseases, from both external
poisons and internal physiologic illness, can also produce symptoms of
psychosis.
Help should be sought through contacting your family physician and /or a local mental health professional. Through a combination of medication and counseling, these symptoms can be controlled.
